Wiston House Biomass Boiler

Wiston House Biomass Boiler Wiston House Biomass Boiler Wiston House Biomass Boiler

Pope Consulting Ltd was commissioned by Wilton Park, an agency of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, to design and project manage the installation of a woodchip biomass boiler installation at Wiston House Steyning.

The 150kW rotary grate KWB Powerfire boiler was delivered containerised for installation on a concrete base approximately 100m from the house. Low pressure hot water heating is delivered to the house by buried pre-insulated polybutylene carrier pipes. The biomass boiler is fully modulating and configured as lead boiler with automatic support from the existing oil fired plant, according to demand.

Woodchip storage is provided by the Wiston Estate and is stored in two shipping containers. The boiler is capable of burning G50 woodchip at 45% moisture content.
