Pope Consulting Ltd was appointed by Reading Borough Council for work stages C & D feasibilty studies and outline design for this £16m project. The project employs ground source heat pumps for primary energy and has solar collectors, wind generators and a combined heat and power unit. The school has a full sprinkler installation, lifts and a hydrotherapy pool. The builing has excellent thermal insulation and airtightness: U-values and air leakage are approximately half of the requirements under the 2005 Building Regulations.

Willmott Dixon undertook this design/build project, appointing Pope Consulting to provide the detailed design. The building has been awarded a BREEAM Excellent Rating and was handed over in May 2008.
